WHO WE ARE
We are a Broken Arrow, OK based non-profit animal rescue run by a local real estate agent, military veterans, a former BA teacher and community members who are passionate about animals and giving back to the community. Memphis Street Animal Rescue, an Oklahoma Paws 501c3 organization, was born out of the childhood dreams, giving hearts, and can do attitudes. Our name is an homage to the Broken Arrow street where our founders met as neighbors over the fence assisting a stray dog in finding it's owner. The two have since gone on to become a lively and loving rescue household. We are a foster based rescue based in Broken Arrow, OK and serving the entire Greater Tulsa Oklahoma area. In 2024 we opened our first "Thrift & Paw" thrift shop in Broken Arrow in an effort to work towards self sustainability through revenue generated from community household donations & volunteer staffing. We don't do things in a small way. =) This is a HUGE endeavor and we are here for it because there is a HUGE need for helpless animals in our community! Missions & callings like this literally take a village. We both need and appreciate your support and contributions!
OUR MISSION
To assist in the ongoing battle of pet overpopulation in Oklahoma by offering a
no kill shelter environment, responsible adoption, medical aid, and community outreach.
We also intend to provide sanctuary to companion animals who's people have been temporarily displaced.
FUTURE VISION
Continuation of our foster based adoption program with the addition of a 10+ acre property within a 30 minute commute to Broken Arrow which provides sanctuary for dogs and cats who are not easily adoptable due to special needs, age or circumstances and would otherwise be in danger of euthanasia. We also intend to hold space available for pets whose owners are temporarily displaced. Our goal is to open 2 additional thrift shops with ability to house cats/dogs short term by 2029 to assist in the growing needs of the community and to sustainably fund our efforts. We intend to build out a program which offers temporary housing for displaced veterans and their pets with those individuals working within the sanctuary compound during their stay.
